This is one of a few cd's that I bought as part of a Valentine's Day gift for my husband. We both are currently doing our family trees and, even though we have just started going through the cd's I ordered, we can tell that all of them will be a great help in our genealogy searches.

If your German ancestry is not primarily from the Pennsylvania area, this is not a perfect reference --- the German ancestry I was looking for went into New York, but not New York City, and it doesn't appear there will be much there for me. Later I may find that I have German ancestry in PA and will be glad I have it.

This is a DVD collection of pdf copies of various books, pamphlets and journals whose emphasis is on German-American history and genealogy. Its strength is on documents related to the early (1700-1850) German settlement of eastern Pennsylvania and if your ancestral roots go to that time and place this collection could be a gold mine. There are a few documents that refer to New York, Maryland and Indiana but Pennsylvania is its concentration. Unfortunately my family ancestry starts after the Civil War and is concentrated in western PA and NY, so there was no-to-little direct information available to me here (4 stars).The DVD is well produced and the documents are are clear and easy to read with Adobe Reader. Most are in English with a few minor portions in German. There are several family genealogies included in the collection, which could be a great boom if a portion related to your ancestry. Certainly this is a good value at $5.95 even it provides only background information on German immigration to the U. S. The product came quickly in a sturdy DVD mailer via USPS.

Kisma K. Stepanich was born July 4, 1958, in Southern California. She has been actively involved in the Goddess community since the early 1980s. Kisma founded Women Spirit Rising of Costa Mesa, a woman's organization that provides ongoing New and Full Moon ceremonies, monthly Goddess mythology circles, seasonal celebrations and women's spirituality workshops. Of Irish and Romanian descent, Kisma Proudly claims her European heritage. Having studied and undergone initiation in the Celtic and Faery traditions, she turned her focus to the native traditions of America and has studied and undergone initiation with several Shamans of Native American traditions.
